I am an Teaching Assistant Professor of Film Studies at Bowling Green State University in BG, Ohio. I hold a Ph.D. and an M.A. from Cornell University, and a Magister (M.A.) from Konstanz University (Germany).

Research and Teaching Interests: Transnational popular cultures and audiences, in particular film, television, online culture, and fan culture;  gender, race, and class in popular film and media; screen representations of nudity and sex; media reception and gender; incarcerated people and correctional facilities in transnational popular media; the construction of “high” and “low” cultures/audiences; differing national discourses on “the popular” in Europe and the USA.

Approaches: Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Cultural Anthropology, Reception Study, Feminist and Queer Theory, Theories of Social Justice and the Public Sphere
